I want to thank all of you who have sent me condolences and special memories of Tim. I may not be able to thank everyone individually, but just know that your love and support have meant a lot to me. Some of you weren't sure how to contact me. When you use this blog to contact me, the message goes into my email box. Another alternative is to email me directly: quox@att.net
My bronchitis/pneumonia has been clearing thanks to antibiotics, and I'm slowly entering into a world without Tim. I have plenty of support from local friends, but it's still very hard. I'm trying to take each day as it comes, and not get overwhelmed with all the little and big things that need attention. Tim and I had prepared as much as we could over the last few years and, especially, the last few months. Of course, there are still many things that we didn't think of. And, no amount of preparation can prepare you for the absence.
Several of you have asked what my plans are. It's too soon for me to make any specific plans, but I do intend to stay put here in our Berkeley home. It's very comforting to me to be here in the home that Tim and I shared -- and intensely decorated with antiques, art and plants. I'm hoping that my cancer continues to be in remission so that I can, indeed, enjoy life as that's what Tim wanted for me.
I probably won't be doing a whole lot of blogging, but I will keep everyone posted what's going on.
Thanks again to all of you,
Paul
These are photos of quokkas that we saw when we were in Australia in 2017. Quokkas are small kangaroo-like mammals that are found mostly on an island off Perth. They're the size of house cats, and are very tame. They quickly became one of Tim's favorite animals. He had a photo of quokkas on his phone and on his tablet. The pictures always made him smile.
